I’m Richard, owner of Border Cycle Works. I am passionate about all things cycling. As a child I spent most of my spare time building and maintaining my own bikes and was racing MTBs from an early age. After college I joined the army as a mechanic to expand my engineering skills and raced for the regiment mountain bike team. When it was time to leave the Army, I moved up to the Scottish Borders, and, after over 30 years of repairing, servicing and building family, friends and teammates bikes took the plunge to start up professionally. I still like to race bikes and take part in several ultra-endurance events each year.
